Evaluation of soil salinity level through using Landsat-8 OLI in Central Fergana valley, Uzbekistan

چکیده

Soil salinity is a major concern in the Uzbekistan. Fergana valleys agricultural lands, it negatively affects plant growth, crop yields, whereas central part of valley semi-desert and desert areas due to subsidence, corrosion ground water quality, leading further soil erosion land degradation. Traditional assessments have been doing by collecting samples laboratory analyzing collected for determining totally dissolved soils (TDS) electro conductivity, but, Geo-informatic systems (GIS) Remote Sensing (RS) technologies provides more efficient, economic rapid tools techniques assessment mapping. Main goals this research are map valley, show relation its result with traditional analysing withGIS technology As source satellite images has used Landsat-8 OLI. Research every arable validity point different locations were measured composition Repository, Quality analysis center was compared our conducted on sensor can be said that study done correctly.

Mapping soil salinity using Landsat 8 images for land evaluation: A Case Study of Saveh

Introduction: As a valuable asset that play a key role in the environment, natural resources, and the production of agricultural products, soil provided an appropriate ground for plant growth and vegetation development. Therefore, any disregard to the preservation of such a valuable capital may result in food shortages, soil erosion, and degradation of natural resources. From among different i...

Comparative Study among Different Semi-Empirical Models for Soil Salinity Prediction in an Arid Environment Using OLI Landsat-8 Data

Salt-affected soils, caused by natural or human activities, are a common environmental hazard in semi-arid and arid landscapes. Excess salts in soils affect plant growth and production, soil and water quality and, therefore, increase soil erosion and land degradation. This research investigates the performance of five different semi-empirical predictive models for soil salinity spatial distribu...

Evaluation of Matched Filter method for wind erosion mapping Landsat 8 OLI Imagery, (Central and North West province of Khuzestan)

Successful target detection, especially if there is a similarity between the target and the background area, always is a noticeable issue in remote sensing studies. Because of the spectral behavior similarity to the other phenomena and spatial distribution of these units, the mapping of wind erosion units is difficult. Thus, this study attempts to detect the favorable areas by using matched fil...

Ocean Color Measurements from Landsat-8 OLI using SeaDAS

The Operational Land Imager (OLI) is a multi-spectral radiometer hosted on the recently launched Landsat-8 satellite. OLI includes a suite of relatively narrow spectral bands at 30-meter spatial resolution in the visible to shortwave infrared that make it a potential tool for ocean color radiometry: measurement of the reflected spectral radiance upwelling from beneath the ocean surface that car...
